A can, not a preservative

Is canned fish healthy?

Let us break this serious dilemma and often a big misconception😊

Here are 5 reasons never to suspect canned fish again.

1. It is important to understand that a CAN DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY PRESERVATIVES OR ADDITIVES.

Preservatives have been labelled in the minds of consumers for a long time as the culprit, a name that we are reluctant to read on a declaration, especially if we have already consumed that food many times.

We will single out one expert conclusion from numerous controversies about its harmfulness:

If the permitted amounts are strictly observed, preservatives cannot harm us in the short term, but their continuous, long-term intake leads to permanent consequences.

Perhaps it is important to know that many researches show that almost 90 percent of adverse substances are introduced into the body through food.

Are we ready to risk our health due to preservatives, colours and other adverse substances? We continue our research about benefits of canned goods, which are so often unfairly under suspicion.

The answer is already obvious, but let us confirm:

2. YES, CANNED FISH IS HEALTHY!

Experts from the American centre (the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Nutrient Database) confirm this claim.

What makes cans great is preservation of most nutrients – proteins, carbohydrates and fats do not change their structure, and neither do vitamins A, C, D and B2.

Therefore, canned fish has as many healthy nutrients as fresh ones.

3. THERE IS MORE CALCIUM IN CANNED FISH THAN IN FRESH FISH.

The reason for that lies in a simple fact that the bones in sardines are small, soft and edible, and they are known to be an excellent source of calcium.

It is interesting that a can of sardines contains 27% of daily value of calcium, which is more than a cup of milk.

4. CANNED FISH IS A PERFECT SOURCE OF PROTEINS AND OF BELOVED OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS.

We already know everything about them, but let us confirm once again – we love them because they have an extremely positive effect on the heart, on the entire immune system and prevent inflammatory processes in the body.

5. CANNED SARDINES CONTAIN VERY LOW AMOUNTS OF MERCURY.

This is one of the reasons why sardines are recommended in diet of young children and can be safely eaten by pregnant women. Since being small fish, sardines contain very low amounts of mercury.

Finally, to conclude:

A CAN DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY PRESERVATIVES OR ADDITIVES  NITI ADITIV

IT KEPS MOST OF NUTRITIONAL INGREDIENTS AND VALUABLE NUTRIENTS THAT DO NOT CHANGE THEIR STRUCTURE

IT IS A RICH SOURCE OF PROTEINS AND OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS, VITAMIN D, SELENIUM AND CALCIUM

IT DOES NOT REQUIRE LONG PREPARATION OR COOKING

All of these are good, healthy reasons to include canned fish in our regular diet.
